About Me

Tom Zaun

my name is Tom Zaun. I’ve always been interested in how things work, adapting them to meet my needs. After making an anvil from a piece of railroad track, I started making mostly fishes by flattening copper pipe for material. This, combined with my love for the outdoors including fishing and hiking has inspired me to create various metalwork projects, mostly fish and animals. Please see my first project ever below.

Starting with gifts to friends and family, it grew from there. Eventually, I made a large Northern Pike which I liked so much that I wanted it on my roof. That was when I came up with this design and the only change I have made to it is how the top part can separate from the compass post.
