Copper Weathervane Project Details

All projects start as a customer approved/provided paper template and are Handcut/Handcrafted one at a time. They are 2 sided silhouettes and NOT cut by CNC or plasma cutter. Just about any image is possible and guaranteed to last for generations. They are Built to Last.

All weathervanes ride on two internal sets of stainless-steel bearings making them very sensitive to the slightest breeze. This allows the weathervane to always move even when there is no wind it seems and then tracks back perfectly into the wind on a steady breeze.

Most weathervanes are made in 3 sizes. The larger sizes are designed to fit a 3/4 inch ID mounting bracket. There are many affordable adjustable types found easily and I have always helped a customer choose the right one. Customers have mounted many different ways on sheds, gazebos, garages, homes, gardens, etc.

Outdoors, copper will develop a beautiful surface appearance of something grown beautiful especially with age or use known as Patina. I see it happen a lot sooner near the salt air on the coasts. If asked to, I can force the patina on any project through a process for that 100-year old look though most folks want to see it happen on its own.

I have shipped all over the US, Canada, and the UK. This all starts with a phone call to 1-518-646-3383.

I always want to have a call with a customer to determine which way to mount the letters NSEW, so when viewed these letters do not appear backwards. I like to have each project look different if possible and have a customer help design the arrow as well as the subject. The compass letters are solid hand cut copper attached by the copper arms and all soldered.

My love of the outdoors including fishing and hiking has inspired me to create various metalworks projects. I enjoy doing every project and feel like it’s more of a hobby than a job and expect this trend to continue.
